Here the weather infomation of the school field
where I typically fly; it's only about a mile away. Honeywell labs are
across the street and their weather info is reported real-time; Sandburg's is
delayed. The main thing I like is that you get a graph of wind speed/gust
and direction which is really important to know with r/c flying.
28AUG08: Grassfield RC flying field in Brooklyn Park, MN - The
event of the day was for "large scale" flying. Lots of WWII
warbirds and even an Autogyro!!! The winds were pretty tough (passed over
a row of trees which gave windshear-type effects), almost every plane had issues
with landings and many were damaged. A couple completely "bought the
farm"...unfortunately, I really don't have many pictures of the carnage.
